Hey Followers.

feistyfeminist:

I don’t have to remind you not to drive drunk or accept a ride from anyone who has been drinking tonight right? Don’t be a horrible human being.

“The thing modern education has gotten really wrong is this: ignoring the fact that there are 4,000 ways to competency. 100,000 ways to competency. One million ways to competency. One of the dumbest things ever decided was that a piece of paper with a college name on it made one person’s skill set better than someone else’s.

That piece of paper often means something. But the lack of it often doesn’t.”

“I’d like to repeat the advice that I gave you before, in that I think you really should make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt.

So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future.

The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”

“Strike against war, for without you no battles can be fought. Strike against manufacturing shrapnel and gas bombs and all other tools of murder. Strike against preparedness that means death and misery to millions of human beings. Be not dumb, obedient slaves in an army of destruction. Be heroes in an army of construction.” —Helen Keller (via azelie)

Pup started FREAKING OUT at 3:30ish and woke me up. He investigated most of the house, suspicious of everything, and then started trying to find somewhere to sleep, only to get up every few minutes to find a new spot. He’s not shaky, but he seems anxious. He’s in his crate now, and I can’t hear him whining, so I’m assuming he’s sleeping.

“Let us toast to animal pleasures, to escapism, to rain on the roof and instant coffee, to unemployment insurance and library cards, to absinthe and good-hearted landlords, to music and warm bodies and contraceptives… and to the ‘good life,’ whatever it is and wherever it happens to be.” — Hunter S. Thompson (via iwish4love)
