I've had a glass of wine and I'm feelin' thankful, so I just thought I'd share.

Seriously, I can’t express to you how much I loved getting my BA. Like, I had the best college experience possible. I met amazing people who continue to enhance the quality of my life, and I had the opportunity to have real mentors. Professors who believed in me in a way I didn’t think was possible, and who encouraged me to try things that I would have thought were far beyond my own capacity.

I would be a different person if I hadn’t had the undergraduate experience that I’ve had. I objectively don’t like person I was before I went to college, and I’m so glad I got the chance to grow while I was surrounded by amazing people.

“Americans, like human beings everywhere, believe many things that are obviously untrue, the monograph went on. Their most destructive untruth is that it is very easy for any American to make money. They will not acknowledge how in fact hard money is to come by, and, therefore, those who have no money blame and blame and blame themselves. This inward blame has been a treasure for the rich and powerful, who have had to do less for their poor, publicly and privately, than any other ruling class since, say, Napoleonic times.” —

Kurt Vonnegut, “Slaughterhouse-Five”  (via marxisforbros)

This is my fave quote from this book.
